What are you fueling your body with for breakfast? I’m a huge fan of having a green breakfast smoothie. I even use this smoothie recipe for my intermittent fasting days. It can also be used as a 3-day detox!
This is why I want to share this powerful, healthy, low calorie recipe with you. Starting your day with this Green smoothie is a great way to get energized and feel awesome!
I found this recipe over a year ago while reading the The Plant Paradox by Dr. Steven Gundry, a famous heart surgeon. He has been published in many medical journals for his work in living a healthier life though your diet and exercise.
Healthy Green Breakfast Smoothie
- 1 cup of chopped romaine lettuce
- 1/2 cup of baby spinach
- 1 mint spring (with stem)
- 1/2 avocado
- 4 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 3 to 6 drops of stevia extract
- 4 cup of ice cubes
- 1 cup of water
- Simply place the ingredients in a high-powered blender, and blend on high until smooth and fluffy. Add more ice cubes if you want.
- And if the smoothie is too thick for you, feel free to add a little more water. You can also make a triple batch, and refrigerate it for up to three days in a covered glass container.
Of course you can follow the recipe as it’s written or you can give it a little more boost. You can add a scoop of hemp protein or some fresh blueberries to give it a little extra power.
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been drinking this breakfast smoothie for over a year now and it tastes delicious!
